I think when on the web I have the inability to use my own name. Not that I am trying to hide or anything, it's just my default user names are the standard from my teen years and now I just use them out of habit. I've just recently started using email addresses that contain my actual name.
There's all that identity secrecy stuff about people stealing and using and all sorts of humdrum, but I think I've had those stupid moments of signing up for something I shouldn't have enough times that it doesn't matter much anymore.
So I just signed up for my church's forum and used the user name: Legoknight (all time favourite!!). Then looked at the list of members and realized that MOST (but not all) used their actual NAMES for the forum.
AHA! I will know who I AM talking to but THEY won't! (Except that my signature says "Robyn") Do'h! I guess there I go, not thinking quite straight again.
; )
Later, doods...
